End-of-the-year News!!

Some great news from 2024 concerning my last book of poems, Just a Little Cage of Bone, as I move into a new year:

First, it was named as a finalist in the American Writing Awards.

Then, not long after receiving that news, I learned that one of its poems (placed below) was nominated by the editors of the Altadena Poetry Review for a 2025 Pushcart Prize.

SURVIVING “ADAGIO FOR STRINGS”

First

and only rule:

Never listen in the dark or

while vulnerable

for

everyheartbreak,

every 3 a.m. drunken phone call,

every failed relationship

            that’s been boxed up,

            put on a shelf

will bore its way

out

of your memory

and pierce

your tear ducts

especially

when

enduring

that final,

single, seemingly never-ending and eternal

note

Now it's time for me to get to work on my fifth poetry collection, tentatively titled The Beast Inside.
